South Africa is commemorating Freedom Day this Monday.
It's a day that pays tribute to the country's first post-apartheid elections on April 27, 1994, which marked the end of apartheid.
In his weekly newsletter, President Cyril Ramaphosa stressed that Freedom Day is also a moment to recommit to tackling poverty, inequality and underdevelopment, ensuring democracy remains resilient and aligned with human rights, equality and global solidarity.
To talk more about this, we are joined virtually by Professor Thuli Madonsela, Director of the Centre for Social Justice, Stellenbosch University.
