The Special Investigating Unit has welcomed a Special Tribunal ruling that has set aside an R85 million contract for the construction of a border wall along the KwaZulu-Natal–Mozambique border.
The SIU found that the winning bidder, ISF Shula Joint Venture, secured the tender using a fraudulent BBBEE certificate, an expired letter of good standing, and without meeting key financial requirements.
Despite receiving approximately R84 million, only 5.29km of the planned 8km wall was completed.
To discuss this further, we are now joined by Selby Makgotho, the National Spokesperson of the SIU.
