Ramifications of extending the Madlanga Commission: Prof Sipho Seepe weighs in

The Madlanga Commission's final deadline has been extended to Monday, 16th of November, 2026, instead of the initial August 31st deadline.

In addition, this latest extension sets an evidence deadline of Friday, 2nd of October 2026.

In a statement, the Presidency says the latest extension is to enable the Commission to close off topics it has opened up in the course of its hearings, adding that without an extension, the Commission will have to leave large parts of its work unfinished.
