South Africa and China have signed a memorandum of understanding to address regulatory barriers that hinder trade between the two countries.
China remains South Africa's largest trading partner, and the agreement supports the China-Africa Economic Partnership Agreement, which aims to facilitate duty-free access for South African exports.
At the signing ceremony hosted by the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition, the two countries committed to strengthening market regulations, standards and technical cooperation as key enablers of trade.
