SADC Meeting | Regional co-operation key to closing gender gap

South Africa hosted the Southern African Development Community's (SADC) Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Gender and Women's Affairs in Pretoria, where regional leaders reviewed progress on gender equality, women's empowerment and the fight against gender-based violence.

The meeting focused on strengthening implementation of the SADC Protocol on Gender and Development, with ministers agreeing on measures aimed at accelerating progress, as the region moves closer to the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
