A state witness has told the Johannesburg High Court that former police officer Mandla Buthelezi was sober when he allegedly shot and killed his then-girlfriend, Chesnay Keppler, in 2024.
The 22-year-old Gauteng Traffic Warden was fatally wounded following a domestic dispute in Eldorado Park, south of Johannesburg, on Boxing Day.
Buthelezi and his co-accused, Llewellyn Meyers, face several charges, including murder, the attempted murder of witnesses and defeating the ends of justice. They have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
