Concerns have been raised after the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) suspended certain social grant payments due to ongoing review processes, flagging more than 400-thousand grants and over 200-thousand already assessed.
SASSA says the review is aimed at determining the eligibility of targeted beneficiaries, whether they still qualify to receive social grants and if their current financial circumstances are still the same as when they qualified at the time of application.
