Eskom has renewed a threat to plunge Joburg into darkness over a R5.2 billion debt. Eskom issued a public notice warning of possible electricity supply interruptions, owing to an alleged failure by the municipality to honour the terms of a settlement agreement relating to outstanding debt and the payment of its current electricity account.
The settlement agreement was made an order of the High Court in November last year. For more on this matter, we are now joined by Eskom acting Group Executive, Distribution, Agnes Mlambo.
