The Kingdom of Lesotho officially launched its TB Parliamentary Caucus on Friday.
The launch brought together Members of Parliament, policymakers, civil society organisations, and international partners. Lesotho is among the world's 30 high-burden countries for TB and TB/HIV co-infections. It ranks first in the African region and fourth globally.
In response to the alarming TB infection rate, UK Parliament member Nick Herbert and South African Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi co-founded the Global TB Caucus, a non-partisan network of parliamentarians working to accelerate the fight against tuberculosis.
