Dozens of families have been left homeless after authorities demolished their shacks at Chief Albert Luthuli informal settlement in Ekurhuleni.
Residents say they were originally relocated from Paksfontein to the settlement in 2011, in what was meant to be a temporary three-month arrangement.
They allege the Ekurhuleni municipality has repeatedly promised them permanent relocation.
Residents told SABC News Reporter Musa Mhlongo they were not given any notice of the demolition and their homes were demolished while some of them were still at work.
