A break-in at a South African National Defence Force facility in Thaba Tshwane, Pretoria, has raised serious concerns after weapons, including rifles and a grenade launcher, were stolen. The burglary was discovered in late April, with reports indicating that suspects gained access by breaching the perimeter and forcing entry into a storage area.
A criminal case has been opened, and investigations are underway involving both military police and the South African Police Service.
For more on the safety concerns and what action is being taken, we speak to Dakota Legoete, Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Defence and Military Veterans.
