Helen Foster Snow's legacy: The unbreakable spirit of the Long March

In 1937, American journalist Helen Foster Snow journeyed into northern Shaanxi to chronicle the Chinese Communist revolution.

Through seminal works like Inside Red China, she brought the gritty reality, hopes and resilience of soldiers, women and children to a global audience.

Decades later, her great-nephew Adam Foster, founder and chairman emeritus of the Helen Foster Snow Foundation, reflects on that legacy. He shares intimate family stories of the young children who served as nurses on the Long March, the spark of hope Helen saw in their eyes and why that timeless tale of sacrifice and struggle speaks to us today – and continues to inspire a better future.
