Orient, Eastern beaches closed indefinitely following fatal attack of female swimmer

Orient Beach and Eastern Beach in KuGompo City in the Eastern Cape, have been closed indefinitely following a fatal attack of a female swimmer by a shark.

Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality, Spokesperson, Luzuko Buku, says the deceased was attacked by the shark while swimming at Orient Beach in the morning.

Buku says authorities are on site managing the situation and members of the public are urged to exercise extreme caution and to stay out of the water at the affected beaches.
