The main pipeline runs through Belarus, Lithuania to Kaliningrad. The backup pipeline runs through Estonia, Latvia to Kaliningrad. It was last used in 2024. If BOTH routes are shut off then it will be war.

The better question would be why did Ukraine ever stop, even if it were for just a few days? This is by far Ukraine's most successful strategy. Le Pute has lost over 50% of his refining capacity, and hopefully that figure will be a lot higher by winter.
