<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Q4Uzw8SG-0&t=98">1:38</a> "put a GPS tracker in an order before it was shipped."<br>That sounds illegal...
I noticed many years ago that if I wanted to learn something or become informed on a particular topic, books from the middle of the last century or so were much more useful in that regard than say books like the "For Dummies" series. I also found that the latter, less helpful books, were replacing the older ones in libraries. We have been losing this battle for quite a while now in my experience.
Wooow, this form of extremist capitalism is destroying the world. They create problems so that they become a solution. Doing it with disease (covid) and getting away with it set a very dangerous precedent.
I believe they keep digital copies. The content is what is to be preserved, the paper it is printed on doesn't matter. Most people didn't even know that those books existed. How does an obscure book in some corner of the world help anyone? At least, as part of the knowledge base of some AI agent, that material may help someone.
and now all history will be on a digital format making it easier to distort the truth about all history, they will then easily be able to alter the content of all books using AI, talk about a gaslighting sociopath
"Project Panama" the effort to destructively scan(aka copy, and destroy) all the books in the world. I assume by ALL they would include super rare books that are historical artifacts or only have a few existing copies. <br>How do we get mass destruction of books criminalized? <br>How do we get a complete dataset of all book from this project made public> Seeing as its all books form the whole world, that makes it important for every person. No one person, or compony should have have the sum of human knowledge locked away from the rest of humanity.
Think about this, there are archives like Google Books and the Internet Archive and Way Back Machine that preserve this history for all of humanity<br><br>Scanning does not have to destroy the books, nor remove them from the public<br><br>But corporations seeking to remove rare and valuable knowledge (training material) from the market, this represents direct harm to potential competitors, making it more difficult for them to attain the same knowledge.<br><br>Knowledge the corporation did not author, discover, or research.
