An evaluation was conducted by clinical psychologist Dr. David Salsberg ahead of Shkreli’s 2018 sentencing for securities fraud. In court filings, prosecutors noted that while Shkreli privately bragged that the test would prove he had "no overt psychological issues" and a 150 IQ, the actual clinical findings painted a very different picture:<br><br>• Personality Traits: The report noted that Shkreli’s behavior and actions were highly "consistent with a narcissistic outlook, faulty judgment, a sense of entitlement, and denial."<br><br>• Distorted Reality: The psychologist observed a "preoccupation with thoughts of success and a rather undisciplined imagination that takes liberties with reality at times."<br><br>• The "Unspecified" Label: An unspecified personality disorder is diagnosed when a patient exhibits clinically significant traits across multiple personality categories—such as Cluster B traits (narcissistic or antisocial tendencies)—but does not perfectly fit the full diagnostic criteria for one isolated disorder.
