Suspended Mpumalanga Police Commissioner Lieutenant-General Daphney Manamela is set to face a board of inquiry from 4 to 8 May 2026.
This follows her second suspension, which was effected on 14 June 2024, over allegations of corruption, misuse of state resources, and the abuse of staff.
She is accused of instructing subordinates to use state funds to purchase personal items.
Manamela has denied the allegations and claims she is being victimised by senior SAPS officials.
Organised Crime Investigator at IRS Forensic Investigations, Chad Thomas joins us to unpack the issue.
