I have news for the DW freaks. The US real gdp will hit 5 snd then 10 pc under President Trump.
@bigogirlsandsimp
It is clear that it is different, human less needed with ai and robot.
@vincenzofidanza2539
My personal opinion that America is to much divided , and unwilling to do so. In previous times there were policies differences but a new president brought an umbrella that united and some order. Today After Trump, there is no respect for the other side, Trump i a symptom and a cause. He has already damaged USA standing in the world, look instead at China coesive and strong. inequality is rampant, now the economy is propelled mostly by rich Americans, while many people cannot afford Mc Donald's fast food. Look really bad.

I'd say the one thing that is actually different this time is that the executive leadership is not competent nor reflective enough...

Did....did you put TSMC as Chinese??????? Are you....okay??????
@myselfandeye3884
Last crisis the US could get through it because it had many allies to get it through crises. The US is becoming more isolated by the day and one day they'll realize they can't fall back on any of them because they have diverged from the US. I am looking at you Canada and EU.

This time is different - every financial bubble ever.
@MiguelBollaínRupérez
I personally think the US will still be a very important actor in the global economy, but China is going to surpass them soon in terms of GDP too. The US can be a relevant actor just like EU is still relevant even though they are inferior to China and the US.

If the economy doesn't work for the majority then I would say it already failed

I saw an interview of an english guy who was born in the late 1800s. He said growing up everyone just assumed England would be the strongest forever. It was like “a force of nature.” It didnt last, we shouldnt assume progress
@China_Explained1
In 16 AD, the Roman emperor Tiberius banned silk because Rome was running a trade deficit with China. In the 19th century, the British Empire launched the Opium Wars because Britain was running a trade deficit with China (China banning opium was just the casus belli). In 2026, you have the USA putting tariffs on Chinese exports to diminish its trade deficit. I think this makes it pretty self explanatory which of the two countries will eventually come out on top.

What happens if the plan doesn’t work?
@MikeAndTheGarageGang
It’s not really about how long the country can last, because all those advantages are pretty much still there, even if some of them are weaker now. Then factor in that China has no interest in taking over the US physically. I think it’s safe to say the United States will always be a major country as long as there is life on earth. The question is what kind of a country will it be and is it ever going to be one that works for the majority of the people again? When I got out of high school things worked for pretty much anybody who was willing to work, but that’s just not the case anymore. I still see plenty of people making it but I see a lot of people not making it who would’ve been making it before and in some cases who were. Some people talk about possible rebellions but we just don’t have the kind of conditions anymore that made the first one possible. We don’t even have the conditions that made the big rebellion in China possible. I guess what happens with AI is going to be the big deciding factor.

The debt will be the undoing of American dominance unfortunately. All governments seem unable or unwilling to tackle debt, and if we as individuals operated in the same way we would be bankrupt.
