Restaurant Incident | Parly committee demands action from SANRAL

The South African National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL) was grilled by Parliament's Transport Portfolio Committee, about a recent incident, in which one of its contractors was caught on camera, making death threats against women in a Joburg restaurant.

MPs want to know how far SANRAL's management is in dealing with the matter.

Earlier this month, the chairperson of Moriel Infrastructure Group, which has two contracts with SANRAL, was filmed harassing, intimidating and threatening a group of women.

SANRAL top management and its Board appeared before the committee today, to discuss procurement and consequence management.
