How do they not understand that when he says a lenient punishment he’s talking about the fact that they were only suspended or expelled. In the real world when you sexually assault another person, you don’t get expelled or suspended you go to jail because you’re a rapist. The original story was published by the independent newspaper The Cornell Daily Sun and has articles about the case. The most telling is that the Ithica Police state they were never notified of the charges at the time. Also, it's worth noting that Cornell University closed that fraternity and it remains shuttered to this day
