TRAI Mandates Voice and SMS-Only Recharge Plans for Users
Decode With Sudhir Chaudhary: Around 30 crore Basic Mobile Phone users in India could get more flexibility in their mobile recharges. TRAI has issued new rules requiring telecom companies to offer affordable recharge plans specifically for customers who only need Voice Calls and SMS. If a company offers a 28-day Voice and SMS plan, it will also have to offer a similar 30-day plan. Telecom companies can also introduce annual Voice and SMS-only plans under the new rules. The aim is to ensure that customers do not have to pay for mobile data they do not need. The actual prices of these new plans will be decided by telecom companies when they launch them.
Decode With Sudhir Chaudhary: Basic Mobile Phone
