We speak to Arctic expert Marisol Maddox and Greenlandic journalist Markus Valentin to break down what's really in the agreement and what it could mean for the Arctic.

He could have just asked for all of that in the beginning, then he would probably have gotten it because Denmark cared about being a good ally.

I bet Denmark and Greenland would even have given them exclusive mineral rights if they did it without threats to annex or insulting an ally and the people of Greenland.

But he had to drag Greenland and Denmark through the dirt and demonstrate that the US has no loyalty to good allies. While praising bad strategic allies like Hungary with Orban at the time.

He made it clear that the US does not care about loyalty or being loyal anymore. They just don't view their allies as equals.
What happened…the U.S. took military control of Greenland and can stop any non-NATO country from accessing Greenland’s resources.
Greenland’s sovereignty will continue to erode…it will be a de facto territory of the U.S., just a matter of time.
🙂🇺🇸
Respectfully, propagandized masturbation. Cut to the truth, midterms are 6 weeks away in the US and trump’s approvals in the low 30s, so he’s desperate for a win even a worthless win like this one.
the guest seems completely unaware that the 1951 agreement was modified in 2004... how are they an expert on this topic? the 2004 agreement was the real problem, it prevented usa from opening more military bases.. that is especially relevant because everyone is saying "usa already could open as many bases as they wanted!" no..no they could not.. see the 2004 agreement... jfc, how do democrats call themselves the educated people when they are either ignorant or outright liars?
As much as you Europeans have been lied to. Let me help you out. From an American, they keep telling you it’s the same deal. It’s isnt. We can never be asked to leave, even if Greenland decides to go independent from Denmark, we have veto say over investments and we can flyover rites without needing consent as well as building without consent.
