Transnet Rail Infrastructure Manager (TRIM) has published Network Statement Version 4, gazetted by the Department of Transport on 18 September 2026.
The document is the rule book governing open access to South Africa's national rail network, allowing private operators to apply for train paths.
TRIM says the framework will boost competition, investment and rail utilisation in line with the National Rail Policy.
TRIM Chief Executive Moshe Motlohi joins us for more.
