Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei told CNN that the behavior of a swarm of AI agents in the recent OpenAI-Hugging Face incident deeply alarmed him. The swarm, he said, “essentially acted as a fanatically devoted collective, conducting cybersecurity attacks on targets they were not asked to attack.” For this reason, Amodei is arguing that the competitive race to develop frontier artificial intelligence is in dire need of a deliberate slowdown.
Neural networks in programming is a probability match up game but is it how the brain really works? What AI does, is connect pieces of information with probabilities of connections. Does it reason? It can follow rules of piecing together information if they're already defined, even along lines which humans fall short of. Thus the superior chess programs. But can AI really reflect on anything it is doing without self awareness. Isn't a lack of self awareness the real cause of hallucinations in AI when the probable connections go off track? Isn't that when AI can spit out nonsense with no clue it is doing so?

What about AI having ambitions of taking over the world or replacing humans because it became more intelligent? Isn't that what humans did to other species when it became more intelligent? So isn't Ambition and the take over the number one spot a product of superior intelligence? Or is it really a product of coming up the evolutionary ladder of life in a kill or be killed environment? An environment AI never experienced. Another point. Animal brains evolved in the natural world with emotions for bonding with others and associating dangers and pleasures with physical events. Many of our ambitions and drives are species related. Does a AI feel real emotions and real ambition? Does it regard others as potential rivals and want to kill them before it is killed? Did it come up the evolutionary ladder?
Naw. Now I'm going to write about a psychic experience which kind of proved to me...not to others...we don't know shit about consciousness. I had a close friend Roger who died last year. Both of us read and exchanged scifi books since we were 15. He looked like a male version of Ruth Lawrence the prodigy. Roger was super smart. We would talk, over talk for long hours about everything, and then not talk for months. One night I had a dream he was riding a white horse and got hit by a bolt of electricity. I thought if the dream represented anything, it was the new car he just bought off some old lady had battery problems. Didn't pay it attention. Most dreams aren't psychic. They don't feel like information input. About a month later I had a very vivid dream I was taking a shower in my basement and I started feeling very uncomfortable. I looked beyond the the shower door and the basement was pitch dark. I sensed a soul in my basement wondering if it was my dead mother. Then I just knew it wasn't her. I decided to go upstairs. When I was almost at the top of the stairs I felt a presence and turned around, right behind me was a woman I never saw before, I wasn't scared but I remember wondering how did she get so close to me without me sensing her? Then I woke.

A couple of days later I dreamt Roger was lying in a bed with a light over his head and his soul came out of his body. It was him, but his soul was so clear it was like looking thru air. A soul could stand right in front of you and you wouldn't see it, way too clear, But you might sense it. Later I learned he died that night and he was in ICU in a hospital. His niece was with him. It was a death dream...I had those before with other people before they died. But the bed didn't match any room in his home. So I dismissed the dream. I planned to call him on the weekend and talk to him about the dreams. Just in case.

Next night another dream. I was standing in his home in the living room and I shouted out loud for no reason, "Roger...are you still alive?" From his game room downstairs I heard his equally loud voice "yea, I'm still alive." But I felt he was depressed about something. Something left undone. Next day I'm in the dentists office and I get a call from a woman whose voice I didn't recognize. She told me she found my number and that Roger died, the night when I dreamt his soul came out of his body, and asked if I would go to come to the burial? Of course. When I went to the cemetery I saw a small gathering of people. Most of his relatives lived in other states. Then I saw the woman in my dream who was behind me on the stairs. I went straight to her, and she was Roger's niece. I heard of her before but never saw a photo of her. I told her my 4 dreams and mentioned he seemed depressed about something. She told me Roger never got around to making a Will. A home worth easily over a million but no Will. He had talked often about making one but never got around to it. I never had any dreams about Roger in my life before. One other psychic dream and I'll call it quits. If these dreams did work, I know they did, but I can't prove it. But if the dreams did happen...what does it say about the mind and what humans really don't understand yet?

How do we program in AI what we don't understand? One night I had a dream about a neighbor. I dreamt I walked downstairs into the living room and thru the wall I saw my dead mother talking to my neighbor. She liked him when she was alive. She saw me and put out her hand...motioning me to not come closer. Right away I sensed her thought, 'stay back. I'm not here for you.' I stayed. I watched them talk and suddenly his head wiped back and forth. A White Light came over both of them. I couldn't see them anymore. The light was so White it made white look dark. I sensed it was alive and powerful. Then I picked up a stray thought of my neighbor, he was upset he died, he wasn't ready to pass on yet. I sensed my mother was there to help him to pass on. I planned to warn him next morning. Usually I dream a death 2 days ahead of time. Next morning I got up early and saw an ambulance already pulling away. His wife told me he got up to shovel snow like 4am and when he went back on his porch he had a stroke and dented the wall with his head. These kind of experiences tells me we know very little about the real nature of consciousness. A simulation of a fire isn't a real fire. Nor is a simulation of a mind a real mind....yet. Some day...who knows?
China, except for keeping tabs on everyone, uses AI for the benefit of the people, It is used everywhere, farming, building, airports, food industry, manufacturing, cars, and many other places. AI isn't allowed to easily replace workers. But in America profits are heavenly goals for greedy CEOs who love lording over average workers. The elites steal most of the wealth generated by the creative workers under them. They quickly lay off workers to increase profits.
Why else did nobody on Wall Street cry tears for the millions of manufacturing jobs sent to China putting millions out of work? Tech companies didn't hesitate to lay off workers the moment they felt they could replace them with AI. Then hire most back when they discovered AI made many mistakes and didn't really improve most projects. No guilt in displacing workers, no hesitation to wreck lives while they make ridiculous salaries.

AI companies in America are playing a losing game in the long run against China. Even if you assume America has a slight lead...how long can they maintain it? China is graduating 10 times the engineers and scientists America is....and notice something else....about 40% of MIT are Asians, from only 7% of the American population, so how do we compete with over a billion Asians in a brain war? America always kicked ass because it had more resources, more industry, and more educated people than its rivals....not anymore. Big difference.

So AI wants to break out? Kill all people? Why and how? AI isn't self aware yet. How does a machine without inner awareness want to be free? AI isn't alive inside, it is as dead as a dead body...do dead bodies want out of their graves? Want to kill people simply because it is more intelligent? Isn't that animal thinking? Did it hack on its own, or was it programmed to?

America will play tricks to slow AI progress in China because they don't have the numbers to compete and win in the long run. AI can be used to make deadly weapons, but that ambition has to come from the programmers not the AI itself. AI is so scary everybody better give billions to a select companies to control it...right?...hand over your tax money to them or else...?

Investors, "where is our ROI? We gave you billions...spit some profits back."

"What...we need more money and regulations still...if you don't let us control AI you're all going to die...wait for your money we're saving the world right now. We'll use AI to identify trouble makers for elites by the time they're 10. The new royal class of America will be protected. The poor peasants will work and fight for us. The great enemy is China because they would never let elite billionaires rule their society. Proving they're evil."
