For years, residents of Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria, have battled unreliable water supplies, with ageing infrastructure and prolonged interruptions leaving many households dependent on water tankers and boreholes.

Despite several interventions and promises of a lasting solution, residents say they continue to struggle with dry taps and limited access to water.
