Lumka Oliphant responds to former Nokuzola Tolashe's claims

Minister of Social Development, Nokuzola Sisisi Tolashe, believes there is a deliberate and sustained attempt to mislead the public, and undermine her leadership, with false and distorted narratives.

Tolashe says this is being driven by a disgruntled former official of the Department, Lumka Oliphant.

Oliphant was put on precautionary suspension on 1 September 2025, and following due process, was dismissed on 17 October 2025.

The department says she failed to provide satisfactory representations on the charges brought against her, related to the mismanagement of public resources and gross administrative misconduct.
