Cuba's envoy to the United Nations in New York says his country is facing an economic war due to the continued U.S. oil blockade of his country, on top of more than 6-decade U.S. embargo on the Caribbean island nation.
Ambassador Ernesto Soberon Guzman explained that his country had received just one tanker of oil from Russia in the last few weeks, enough to cover just a third of oil consumption in Cuba for one month.
He explained that the humanitarian impacts were severe across all sectors from transportation, agriculture to health care and education, amid widespread blackouts that exceed 20 hours per day.
