The Zweni family at Borderpost Village, under Amahlathi Local Municipality, Eastern Cape, has been left homeless and stranded on the roadside, allegedly due to an administrative error by the Department of Land Affairs. The family says they have lived on the farm for generations, after inheriting it from their late grandfather who settled there in 1971. They claim the farm was later sold, and the new owner forcibly evicted them without clarity on how the land was purchased leading to their removal earlier this week. The family says the ordeal has left them devastated, while their livestock remains trapped inside the farm following the eviction.
