Parents of children born with a cleft lip or cleft palate have expressed gratitude after their children underwent life-changing corrective surgery at Rob Ferreira Hospital in Mbombela, Mpumalanga.
The operations were carried out by Operation Smile South Africa, in partnership with the Mpumalanga Department of Health, during a four-day surgical outreach programme that included patient assessments and specialist procedures.
A total of 16 operations were successfully completed over the weekend, bringing renewed hope to children and their families while helping to restore both function and confidence.
