Youth Day 2026 | Wits commemorates 50 years of June 16

Fifty years after students rose up on June 16, 1976, Wits University is marking the anniversary with events that revisit the role of higher learning institutions during the uprisings and their aftermath. Today, Wits is reflecting on that legacy and asking what role institutions play in nation-building now. SABC News anchor Liezle Wilson is at WITS Art Museum this morning and brings us more.
