Why can't they do it now or next year? Didn't they do it 6 times in 1969-1972?<br>You would think that with all the accumulated technology during the almost 54 years since 1972, they could do it anytime with ease now. <br>But why at this point in time is it a good idea to spend $4 billion+ to land astronauts on a ball of rock and dust 385,000 km away? Wouldn't it be better to upgrade the international space station to start making it look like the big ol' rotating space station as envisioned we would have had 25 years ago in 2001: A Space Odyssey? Or even better, spend it on badly needed infrastructure repairs around the country?
