Adult teachers should be allowed to carry firearms once passing a detailed background check and gun safety course, firearms safely secured for emergency use. Metal detectors should be mandatory before entering schools. What's leading youth to such violence? Pray!

I feel for the victims and their loved ones. Thank God an armed responsible citizen took care of the threat, because police cannot be everywhere at once. And before you hear the we need more guns control laws, Oregon is one of the restrictive states for gun ownership. What people do not understand is criminals don't follow laws, only the law-abiding do. I wish I was there I would have jumped the one doing the shooting. The youth nowadays have no fear of God anymore it's truly the fault of the parents as well as society for being more secular.
Now imagine if that citizen ahd been an intentionally placed armed protector of those kids. There may not have been anyone other than the criminal who died.
