"Without having sovereign capability, it's a real problem for Australia moving forward" - That's the understatement of the year!

It appears that we are trapped by our reliance on the U.S and therefore have ceded our sovereignty.
@dexterplameras3249
We just go back to the way it was before.

This is a serious wake-up call! <br>Countries need to become self reliant and not beholden to only one country, namely usa.

Why would we even consider the possibility of losing Starlink when we have a myriad of US military bases here??

Out military spending is the same as Israel there is no excuse for us to so heavily rely on the US

Australia is a massive landmass we have to have OUR own satellite network for public &amp; Military ... Come on you go out bush a little bit &amp; you have no network

Australia can continue to rely on Starlink simply by having Elon Musk approve all targets before they&#39;re struck. The events of this week showed us that exposing bot farms by striking data centres is a no-no.
@aerolgbportty728
Of course it Can.

Why are we relying on anything related to Musk! Putting all our eggs in a basket owned and run by 1 man is a massive security mistake.

We should be jumping on board to support the EU rival…

We need to question our overall relationship with the USA. They treat allies worse than enemies. Can we afford to have such an authoritarian power have so much military in our borders?
@adamkuklych6672
We are far too dependant on an unreliable country who spy on us worse than the Chinese.
