We were never ment to land on other planets. God gave us earth, which is sufficient and good according to God. There is no benefit or purpose in landing on other planets. Satellites yes but outer space and other planets is a waste of money and time.
THERE! At Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton Ohio lies the USAF museum. In a display case is something odd. A small satilite soft impacted back to Earth ......and didn't burn up. It burned some but the circuit boards and transistors and its casing were relatively intact. Nobody knows how it happened. It should of burned up completely. What's clear is it's possible to fall from space back to Earth with out a parachute or wings. Save a lot time and energy. But so far nobody knows how..... except UFO's They don't seem to need parachutes or wing's.

The Space Shuttle was good in it's time. A reusable spaceship...of sorts. It wasn't meant to go to the moon. But deliver and maintain satilites. It's limited load capability meant it had to glide to touchdown which was a better option than dropping somewhere in the ocean by parachute. However at $250,000,000 per launch it wasn't exactly a cheap alternative to a heavy payload rocket. And it was quite heavy and used a delta wing configuration for stability and control. After the Challenger accident it was 2 years before it flew again and the loss of the Columbia on re- entry showed that there's nothing routine about spaceflight. It has to work right every time.... with orbital refueling we could have powered re- entry. We could probably build one already and it would be classified I'm sure.
