The faster the GPU the more you get from it in these scenarios. Yes, I know it sounds backwards but in reality, that is the case. Getting a weaker GPU will keep performance down. There is no sweet spot. An RTX 5090 would have been the best choice as it would have performed the best.

So much work put into useless project, if you did that with eg latitude 5300/5400/5500 mobo with 4c/8t i5 which can go up to ~4Ghz and with proper cooling it should sustain that, then results would be acceptable, nah maiybe even i6 6300u which can turbo over 3Ghz, i3-6006u is hugely unpowered

ive been watching ur vids since 2020 and i tried some desktop convertions and faild miserably, maybe i was js inexperienced or i was js a kid at that time, your cpu temps are in the 90s because you forgot to include a hole in the case for the cpu fan to push the hot air out (i think), its lwk a miracle that it still works, my dell, like i tried to do the same thing but i feel like the cpu cooler is cooked because it averages 80 on idle and hits 103 when playing games, if possible could you share the 3d files as rn the pcb is js duct taped to a cardboard sheet that is duct taped to the back of an old monitor, dell makes such laptops that have more potential than what the actually do, they say good performance, yea good for 3 years then convert that into a desktop for even more than what they could imagine, anyways love ur vids man, keep going.

These are cool builds but cooling solutions is definitely lacking. The fan for the cpu is pulling hot air off the gpu in front of it.
atp change the cpu froom and i3 to altleast an n95 or n100 and add some performance mods o modpacks and that thing is gonna ctuise and addnvidium especially as it boosts mc fps when using an nvidia gpu

loved the video, please make another with a celeron laptop or i5 8th gen laptop. You earned a sub, i have seen a lot of videos on upgrading old office laptops but they mainly added ram, but this one was great, even tho it didn't preserve most part of the laptop, it would have been better if you could have made the screen somehow connected, anyway the video is real banger on giving life to old laptops.

My laptop has a pentium 4415u, which is worse than that cpu and i also have 4gb single channel ddr4. It runs half life 2 and portal at high settings 60fps.

I challenge you to build a complete PC with mid-range or high-end specs inside a desk, where the PC itself is completely invisible. The monitor should be attached to the desk, so you can pull it up and raise it out of the desk, and the keyboard and mouse should be the same way—you pull them out, and both the mouse and keyboard slide out from the desk, just like in Zack's video.

i have dell latitude with i7 8700u and 16gb ddr4... it runs programs really well but its not for anything else
Things get better with the 8th gen like the 8250U because these are real quadcores, some of the older M CPUs have 4 cores as well but the 6006U is a potato in modern games even with the GTX 1650 :D Love the project tho <3
I have a Dell Inspiron 5577 whose screen has broken down. It has an i5-7300HQ (4c, 4t) and a GTX1050 (4GB VRAM), so it can afford some gaming. <br>However, I also have a gaming PC. If possible I'd love to turn my laptop into an AIO PC, but I don't have the slightest idea when it comes to DIY.
