I’m just gonna say what everybody else is thinking; he only apologised after he had been abandoned by his band and all of his warmup acts and all of the bad press. Not to mention the protests outside of his venues, that he was also not filling. Go figure. And this bullshit about him not wanting to be political is precisely that, because he has said and performed many political acts in support of Ukraine.

The lot of a famous singer: it's easy come… and it's easy go. Your customer base who blindly hero worshiped you and made you rich quickly .. are emotionally volatile and may suddenly reject you for not instantly capitulating to their one sided naivety over a frankly separate issue. Build intelligent customers slowly; not simple reactionary ones who only see in binary and never question the MSM line..

Honestly, let’s give him some credit: it must be hard to look 'Perfect' when your 'Eyes Closed' are glued to a monitor like a nervous news anchor reading a retraction script. But seriously, never take a pop star seriously when he's delivering a humanitarian speech with his hands in his pockets. His entire performance is as automated as his music. At this point, I’m pretty sure both his political stances and the 'Shape of You'—I mean, his chord progressions—are just a bunch of 'Bad Habits' copied and pasted from someone else's hard drive.

He didn't apologise he tried to appease. Yes Oct 7th was horrific but so was operation Cast Lead conducted in 2008 when 1400 Palestinians were massacred by Israel. Israels response to Oct 7th stands as one of the most if not the most disproportionate response in history. Utterly evil and devoid of any feeling whatsoever. How one group of people could be so cruel to another is incomprehensible it points to a severe sickness in Israeli society and all those that have enabled that action.

The BBC's framing: It's "Pro-Palestine" rather than "Anti-Genocide". The "controversy" prompted the other acts to quit, not Sheeran firing someone for speaking out. This is all just an "argument about free speech" rather than a principled stance against genocide. It all started on 7 October 2007. The genocide isn't a "genocide", it's a "situation in Gaza". Pro-Israel and Pro-Sheeran people are "Concert goers" while Pro-Palestine and Pro-Macklemore people are "Protesters". Riiiiight. 🙄🙄

Its hardly taking sides. There isn't enough moral ambiguity to take sides. Stop killing children, stop committing genocide and then the world can talk about sides, but even then Israel... Netanyahu has disgraced your country for centuries after these atrocities. That's not a reflection on the Jewish faith and you're not the first and only country to have to live with this shame. Most countries have dirt somewhere in their past. This will follow you for centuries so to the Israelies who call every criticism or pro-palestine sentiment anti-semitic, you need to stop and offer humility. Welcome to humanity. World leaders are kind of psycho and do bad things in our name. Agreeing with them when they're harming innocents makes you bad too regardless of creed, colour, geographical location, history or religious books that might imply special people, or exemption from doing wrong. No. On a human level Israel has done monsterous things. There's no sides until Israel owns it and works to right this wrong although its going to take some doing.

Musicians shouldn't be political? Since when? Since when? This just shines a high beam on how creepy the world has become over 20 years. Ever heard of The Beatles, Green Day, The Clash, Jimmy Hendrix, System of a Down, Dixie Chicks, The S** Pistols, The Who, Manic Street Preachers, Rage Against the Machine, Marilyn Manskn, Bob Dylan... Billie Holiday? Basically, all rock music since it was rythmn and blues and all R&B since it was the spirituals has been political and for the people. Not the bllionaires. Artists can't call for peace in a stadium? Disgraceful.
Don't use those stadiums then artists. Thats the solution.
