As a Military Analyst I know all about the F-35 a/b/c versions. The bottom line is only 1 in 4 is ever combat ready and the rest do not work.<br><br>They are supposed to have a significant software update to TR3. This allows the use of Block 4 weapons. TR3 does not work. Those F-35 that do manage to fly are doing so with highly truncated software.<br><br>They are running old radars. There are new radars but:<br><br>* The US doesn't have the Chinese sourced REM to build them. Because China has cut the US off. (Thank Trump)<br><br>* Even better the new radar does not fit into 95%+ of the F-35 Airframes. The front has to be removed and replaced. Estimated time for this it be completed for all F-35? <i>14 years+</i><br><br>So MBS has paid $24.3 Billion for planes which are in a queue and he will not see any of until 2035 earliest. Will it be flying by then? Well, no. The US is incapable of producing working Ordnance of any type. This is structural, not purposeful. Most Americans cannot see it and the contractors are making way too much money to tell anyone what they're doing wrong
Maybe Canada could off load the F-35's that it has already committed to to Saudi Arabia and pivot 100% towards the Gripen??
