Personally I think that the aspect ratio is better than the traditional taller one, because the inner screen becomes vastly more usable when ratio is a bit wider and I could just switch to the inner screen if there isn't enough vertical space on the outer one.
Maybe actually hold and use the thing before giving such strong opinions on it

Can we stop only naming phone battery sizes in mAh? It it's not a comparable metric across all battery types: 2000mAh at 6V is 12000mWh, while 6000mAh at 3V is the same amount of Energy, but just looking at the mAh value would suggest double the capacity.

Yes, obviously the aspect ratio is bad. The only aspect that matters is around 20:9 and nothing should ever change that. It obviously should have been an iphone on the outside and two iphones on the inside. Multitasking on the inside should have been mandatory since letting a single app span the whole inner screen is not 20:9 and therefore the wrong aspect ratio. /s

Hard disagree about the aspect ratio. Personally I love the “passport” style and think this is the way forward for foldables. The keyboard:screen real estate is more of a software problem imo.

Outside screen Gloss, inside screen Matte? That is hideous design choice and almost like a manufacturing mistake. They clearly did it matte to hide the crease which is always very visible on other glossy foldables. Also the corners are too rounded and it’s really ugly in general for an Apple product.

I personally just hate the iPhone Duo. They completely DESTROYED Multitasking on the iPad with iPadOS26 and 27 only to bring it back as an exclusive feature for the Duo. Also, as a left-handed all I see is a big fat FUCK YOU from Apple here. This thing is laser-focused to ONLY work right-handed when closed. All elements are pushed to the right and because this thing is too wide, you just can't reach it. <br>It has some flashy animations but as a form factor this thing is simply awful. Not to mention shortcomings like that it's using the main camera of the iPhone 17e. Not the base 17. On a relatively thick foldable, this is ridiculous.

That's an iPhone!? There's no chance that thing doesn't break instantly. A normal iPhone breaks instantly when dropped despite competitors having mostly solved that problem years ago. I've heard nothing about how durable the folding phones are, only how fragile they are. The chances that apple made that thing better than everyone else just seems like almost zero. And the weird look hurts their brand. That doesn't look like an iPhone.

Microsoft Surface Duo was a great idea, unfortunately it was shelved. <br>If they would have seen it through it would have been the folding device that led the pack. <br>The passport style device is gonna be what becomes popular/mainstream moving forward.
